Tower of Power had a series of hits in the 1970s. But, like a lot of other musical acts in this concert, they had some hard times in the 1980s. They only put out two albums, one in 1981 and the other in 1987, and neither one made the U.S. album charts. I believe at this time their lead singer was Tom Bowes, who had just joined the band earlier that year.
Their set concentrated on the 1970s hits, with no songs from their 1987 album.
