Larkin Poe - Porch Pickin', Episode 3, Nashville, TN, 2-13-2021

When I recently posted a Larkin Poe album, I noted that I hadn't had anything new to post from them in a long time (at least a year) due to not having anything with worthy sound quality. But then I realized that that wasn't entirely true. In late 2020 and early 2021, they did four podcasts which they called "Porch Pickin'." They're somewhat repetitive, since they were all done to promote their 2020 album "Kindred Spirits." I think Episode 3 is the most interesting, since they did some unusual songs, so I'm posting that here.

I edited this quite a lot. There's a lot of talking between songs, and I edited that down quite a bit. There were lots of shout outs to supporters who were donating as the podcast went on, and I cut out nearly all of that. There also was some conversation that just wasn't that interesting and also got the cut.

I also edited two songs, "Heart of Gold" and "Can't Help Falling in Love." These are covers of famous songs by Neil Young and Elvis Presley respectively. In both cases, they didn't really know the songs, and were just giving them a try based on suggestions from viewers. I edited out some of their mistakes, which is why both those songs have "[Edit]" in their titles. By the way, neither of those songs were done in their "Tip O' the Hat" series (or anywhere else I know of), although the other covers here, "You Can Close Your Eyes," "Bell Bottom Blues," and "Wildflowers," are.

I'm only planning on posting this episode. However, I might be persuaded to post one or more of the other three if there's enough interest. You can watch all four of them on YouTube.

This album is 48 minutes long.

Someone made a cover image for the YouTube videos of these, posted to the official Larkin Poe YouTube page. I took that cover image and cropped it. I also squished all the text horizontally, since the original cover was significantly wider. I added in the date as well.

Morgan James - Acoustic Cover Songs, Volume 7, 2020-2022

It's been a while since I've posted any albums by Morgan James, but I'm back with more. I'm glad to see from the download numbers that a lot of people appreciate her considerable vocal talents.

This is another album consisting entirely of cover versions done acoustically. It gets a bit confusing, because I first posted six albums of her acoustic covers from the years 1994 to 2020. Then, in 2020, due to being stuck at home thanks to the Covid pandemic, she did 100 covers in a row, which she called the Quanatunes series. I posted seven albums of that. This picks up where that left off, back to more acoustic covers that aren't specifically part of that Quarantunes series.

There's not much to say here that I didn't say with earlier volumes. Although I'll note that she was especially bold with her song selection this time, covering some of the most iconic songs of all time, including "Layla" and "Stairway to Heaven!" It's interesting to hear songs like that backed only by a single acoustic guitar.

I almost didn't include "Son of a Preacher Man," because it had some big problems. The song broke down in the middle, as she and her guitarist, her husband Doug Wamble, forgot how the bridge went. However, I did some heavy editing that snipped out the problem area. There still are some bits of Wamble talking that I don't like, but I couldn't remove them because it overlapped with her singing. The song also was cut off right at the end, but I found a way to patch in a final guitar strum to give it a decent finish. All of that is why the song has "[Edit]" in the title.

By the way, I'm most of the way to having a Volume 8, but I'm still a few songs short.

This album is 47 minutes long.

Here's a list of the original artists for each song:

01 Chain of Fools - Aretha Franklin
02 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
03 The Dark End of the Street - James Carr
04 The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
05 With or Without You - U2
06 Son of a Preacher Man [Edit] - Dusty Springfield

08 Gethsemane - Jesus Christ Superstar Soundtrack
09 Better Man - Pearl Jam
10 Layla - Derek & the Dominos
11 Wild Horses - Rolling Stones
12 Sweet Bitter Love - Aretha Franklin

And here's the usual song list:

Sheryl Crow - The Songs and the Stories: Sheryl Crow's Chapel, Nashville, TN, 6-18-2021

Here's a Sheryl Crow acoustic home concert that was sent to me from someone who likes this blog just today. As such, it's gone straight to the top of my big pile of albums to post.

If I'd had this back in 2021, I wouldn't have posted it, because it originally was a pay-to-view kind of thing. But time has passed and it's not even available anymore. Plus, it's already been on YouTube and some other places.

This was from a time during the Covid pandemic when Crow was unable to play with her band or in front of audiences due to fears of spreading the disease. So she did this show in the solo acoustic mode. But it was a bit different from the usual acoustic concert in that she utilized a lot of equipment to help her out. She played a few songs on piano, a couple on bass, and the rest on guitar. She also used some basic backing tracks, such as a simple drum beat on a couple of songs.

As you can guess from the title of the show, "The Songs and the Stories," this was designed to be much like the VH-1 Storytellers series, with lots of banter about nearly every song. Except she had no time limit, so it was a much longer concert than any Storytellers show I've heard of. This has a generous running time of an hour and forty minutes.

All the songs were written or co-written by Crow. The sound quality is excellent, and there were no problems needing fixing.

I still have lots of Crow's stray tracks albums to post as I continue to move forward through her career chronologically. But in the meantime, you can enjoy this one.

Iwan Fals - Ngalor Ngidulnya, Volume 5 (2021)

I consider Iwan Fals one of my favorite musicians of all time. Unfortunately, he only sings in Indonesian, and his lyrics are a big part of his appeal. He's been called the "Bob Dylan of Indonesia." So this album only has a limited appeal, but hopefully those who enjoy it will really enjoy it.

In 2020 and 2021, like many musicians during the height of the Covid pandemic, Fals released videos of himself playing songs in solo acoustic format on YouTube. This is the fifth and last album in that series of videos, which he called "Ngalor Ngidulnya," an idiom which roughly means "my north to south," or "my here to there." I don't know why he stopped when he did exactly, but this goes to the end of the series. He's written so many great songs over the years that he could have gone on much longer.

This album is an hour and four minutes long.

01 Berapa (Iwan Fals)
02 Cik (Iwan Fals)
03 Damai Kami Sepanjang Hari (Iwan Fals)
04 Gali Gongli (Iwan Fals)

The Petersens - Home Concerts 4, Branson, MO, 6-25-2021 to 12-15-2021

I've posted a lot of albums by the acoustic duo Reina del Cid and Toni Lindgren. I consider the Petersens to be similar to that duo. Like them, they post a lot of videos on YouTube of acoustic covers they've performed of classic songs. They have a more traditional, "square" image, and occasionally do religious songs that I'm not fond of (and thus done include in these compilations). But they're similarly very talented, and mostly feature female lead vocals, which I particularly like. So if you've enjoyed the Reina del Cid and Toni Lindgren albums I've posted, I strongly suspect you'll like these.

They have what you might call a bluegrass sound, but you don't have to be a bluegrass fan to like this. I'm not a fan of the genre, and I do like this anyway. They do some traditional bluegrass numbers, but they also do songs by the likes of Coldplay and the Cranberries here. As I mentioned above, I'm normally not a fan of overtly religious songs, but occasionally I like one on musical terms enough to include, and that's the case with "Go Tell John" here.

Here's a list of the original artists for the songs they've covered:

01 Steel Rails - Alison Krauss
02 The Star-Spangled Banner - John Stafford Smith & Francis Scott Key
03 The Way I Am - Ingrid Michaelson
04 Viva La Vida - Coldplay
05 Back Home Again - John Denver
06 Go Tell John - Tammy Griffin
07 Tulsa Time - Don Williams / Eric Clapton
08 Dreams - Cranberries
09 I'm Gonna Miss Her - Brad Paisley
10 Rocky Top - Osborne Brothers
11 The Thanksgiving Song - Ben Rector
12 Wayfaring Stranger - traditional
13 If We Make It through December- Merle Haggard

Here's the usual song list:

01 Steel Rails (Petersens)
02 The Star-Spangled Banner (Petersens)
03 The Way I Am (Petersens)
04 Viva La Vida (Petersens)
05 Back Home Again (Petersens)
06 Go Tell John (Petersens)
07 Tulsa Time (Petersens)
08 Dreams (Petersens)
09 I'm Gonna Miss Her (Petersens)
10 Rocky Top (Petersens)
11 The Thanksgiving Song (Petersens)
12 Wayfaring Stranger (Petersens)
13 If We Make It through December (Petersens)

This album is 45 minutes long.

Iwan Fals - Ngalor Ngidulnya, Volume 4 (2021)

Indonesian singer-songwriter Iwan Fals is one of my favorite musicians, so I'm going to keep posting some of his music here, even though there may only be a handful of people who appreciate it. It really helps to be able to speak Indonesian to understand his excellent lyrics (something I kind of used to be able to speak... now, not so much).

This is the fourth of five volumes of home recordings Fals posted on YouTube during the peak months of the Covid pandemic. Like all the music in this series, it's just him and his acoustic guitar, singing only in Indonesian, drawing from his deep catalog of original material. If you liked the previous ones, you'll like this one too.

This album is one hour long.

01 Rindu Tebal (Iwan Fals)
02 Maaf Cintaku (Iwan Fals)
03 Sugali (Iwan Fals)
04 Siang Seberang Istana (Iwan Fals)
05 Serdadu (Iwan Fals)

Mary Chapin Carpenter - Home Concerts 6, Afton, VA, 1-10-2021 to 3-21-2021

Sometimes I forget things, but I do tend to get around to them eventually. It just might take a while. In this case, I posted five volumes of Mary Chapin Carpenter's home concerts from 2020 to 2021, and then I forgot to post the sixth and last one. I happened to notice that oversight while looking through my music collection today, so here it is.

This volume is very similar to the others in the series. As usual, she had some comments before each song, but also as usual, I cut out a lot of inconsequential talk (often about the current states of her dog and cat), and kept it just to the talk relevant to the music.

Also as was the case with the last couple of volumes, there were issues with squeaky toys for the dog. Luckily, that was pretty minimal this time, and it didn't get in the way of any of the songs. But you'll hear some squeaky noises in the into talk for a couple of the songs.

Carpenter decided to end the series, and gives her reasons in the comments before the last song. That's a bummer, but then again it's pretty impressive that she kept this going on a weekly basis for a full year.

This album is 51 minutes long.

01 talk (Mary Chapin Carpenter)
02 Farther Along and Further In (Mary Chapin Carpenter)
03 talk (Mary Chapin Carpenter)
04 A Keeper for Every Flame (Mary Chapin Carpenter)
05 talk (Mary Chapin Carpenter)

Iwan Fals - Ngalor Ngidulnya, Volume 3 (2021)

Here's the third volume in my series of Iwan Fals acoustic home concerts. Who is Iwan Fals? In case you missed my earlier posts on him, he's an Indonesian rock star, often called the "Bob Dylan of Indonesia." In my opinion, he's an all-time musical giant, and so far ahead of all other Indonesian musicians that he's in a league of his own.

Unfortunately, his chief strength is probably his lyrics, which address all sorts of political and social topics in addition to the usual romantic topics. If you don't understand Indonesian, that will slip by you, because all the songs here are in Indonesian. As a result, I suspect very few people will download this, but hopefully the few who do will dig it.

As with the other albums in this series, he played some of his best known songs from his vast back catalog, with a focus on the ones that work well in a solo acoustic context.

As with all the volumes in this series, I took all the performances from videos that Fals posted on YouTube.

This album is an hour and two minutes long.

01 Asmara Tak Secengeng Yang Aku Kira (Iwan Fals)
02 Siang Pelataran S. D. Sebuah Kampung (Iwan Fals)
03 Berikan Pijar Matahari (Iwan Fals)
04 Semoga Kau Tak Tula Tuhan (Iwan Fals)
05 Puing II (Iwan Fals)
06 Jendela Kelas I (Iwan Fals)
07 Celoteh Camar Tolol dan Cemar (Iwan Fals)
08 Nak (Iwan Fals)
09 Adzan Subuh Masih di Telinga (Iwan Fals)
10 Berkacalah Jakarta (Iwan Fals)
11 Tolong Dengar Tuhan (Iwan Fals)

Iwan Fals - Ngalor Ngidulnya, Volume 2 (2021)

A few days ago, I posted Volume 1 in this series. I have several more to go, so here's the next one already.

If you don't know who Iwan Fals is, beware that he's an Indonesian musician who sings all his songs in the Indonesian language. So if that's not your cup of tea, you should skip this.

My Volume 1 post explained more about who he is and why I'm posting his music. Assuming you know all that, this is a reminder that this series is basically his version of the home concert recordings lots of musicians have done during the pandemic lockdown phase. He has regularly done one song a week, playing them in solo acoustic format (sometimes with harmonica). All these performances are unreleased, unless you count him posting them for free on YouTube.

It seems when he started this series, he tended to do a lot of his most famous songs early on (famous in Indonesia, that is). With this being Volume 2, these generally are all still well known songs. It's too bad if you can't speak Indonesian, because his lyrics are excellent. Although he does lots of romantic songs, he also does many social commentary ones. Take the first song here for instance, "Isi Rimba Tak Ada Tempat Berpijak Lagi." This song laments the cutting of the tropical forests in Indonesia. But the song came out in 1982, putting him ahead of most public consciousness on this issue, especially for Indonesia.

This album is 54 minutes long.

01 Isi Rimba Tak Ada Tempat Berpijak Lagi (Iwan Fals)
02 Sapuku Sapuku Sapu Sapu (Iwan Fals)
03 Tarmijah dan Problemnya (Iwan Fals)
04 Tak Bitu Lagi Lautku (Iwan Fals)
05 Ambisi (Iwan Fals)
06 Antara Aku, Kau dan Bekas Pacarmu (Iwan Fals)
07 Galang Rambu Anarki (Iwan Fals)
08 Obat Awet Muda (Iwan Fals)
09 Sumbang (Iwan Fals)
10 Kereta Tiba Pukul Berapa (Iwan Fals)

https://www.upload.ee/files/16064272/IwanF_2021_NgalrNgidlnyaVolum2_atse.zip.html

As with Volume 1, the cover art was made from taking a screenshot from one of the YouTube videos of these exact performances.

Iwan Fals - Ngalor Ngidulnya, Volume 1 (2020-2021)

I have to warn that this album isn't for everyone. Do you speak Indonesian? If so, you'll hopefully love this. But if not, you may well skip it, since all the songs here are sung in the Indonesian language. I figure very few people will download this, but who knows, maybe word will get out to some Indonesian groups and it'll find an audience.

Have you ever heard of Iwan Fals? Unless you've spent time in Indonesia, I highly doubt it. But I lived there for two years at one point, and in my opinion he's heads and shoulders above all other Indonesian musicians, a musical genius. He's often referred to as the "Bob Dylan of Indonesia," and with good reason. His music career started in the late 1970s, and he's still going strong today (as I write this in 2022), with a new album released in 2021.

He's particularly known for the quality of his lyrics, and he's served as kind of the social conscience of the country, with many protest songs about poverty, injustice, corruption, and so on. (As an example, the second song here, "Ambulans Zig Zag," is a critique about the poor state of Indonesia's public health care system.) In 2002, Time Magazine listed him as a "Great Asian Hero." Also in 2005, the Asian version of Time Magazine published their opinion of the top 100 Indonesian songs of all time. Fals had the number one song, as well as the most songs on the list. Here's his Wikipedia entry if you want to know more about him:

Iwan Fals - Wikipedia

If you've never heard his music before, this probably isn't the best place to start. These are all unreleased versions of songs he started posting on YouTube during the Covid pandemic, just as many musicians have done in other countries. They're all in a solo acoustic format. As such, there's more of a focus on the lyrics. Probably a better place to start for someone who doesn't speak the language is the full band stuff. which has often been rocking and catchy. I could try to put together an introductory best of collection of that kind of material, if people are interested.

Fals got started doing these acoustic versions in late 2020, typically doing one song a week. As I write this in January 2022, he's still going with it. So I have four more albums in this series after this one, hopefully with more to come. They're all original songs taken from his many albums. But the original versions were typically done with a band, and these acoustic versions are often quite different.

The YouTube videos these songs are taken from are usually quite long, typically ten to twenty minutes long. Most of that time t is him talking into the camera (in Indonesian), with one song performed at some point in there. So I've gone to some effort to extract only the songs and leave all the rest behind. The talking doesn't have much replay value, and has zero value if you don't speak Indonesian.

The sound quality is generally pretty good, but it's variable. Even though all the songs were recorded inside his house, it seems he's varied his recording setup and his location slightly from time to time, which has sometimes changed the sound quality. There are a few songs in this long series that I didn't include because the sound quality wasn't as good as the others. But overall, this sounds about the same as other 2020 home recordings I've posted at this blog.

This album is 50 minutes long. Most of the songs from this album are better known ones from the early part of his long career. Oh, and by the way, the name of this series, "Ngalor Ngidulnya" is the name Fals has given to all these videos, and roughly means "hanging out" in Indonesian.

01 Bangunlah Putra Putri Pertiwi (Iwan Fals)
02 Ambulans Zig Zag (Iwan Fals)
03 Puing (Iwan Fals)
04 Sarjana Muda (Iwan Fals)
05 Doa Pengobral Dosa (Iwan Fals)
06 Yang Terlupakan (Iwan Fals)
07 Oemar Bakrie (Iwan Fals)
08 22 Januari (Iwan Fals)
09 Bung Hatta (Iwan Fals)
10 Opiniku (Iwan Fals)

For the album cover, I took a screenshot from one of the YouTube videos of the songs featured here. I think it was "Doa Pengobral Dosa."

The Petersens - Home Concerts 3, Branson, MO, 9-15-2019 to 4-14-2021

Happy holidays! Technically, this isn't a Christmas album. There isn't a single Christmas song on it. But, in my opinion, it has the sort of vibe. The Petersens are an American, Christian, wholesome, acoustic family band. They play the sort of music you might want to play on family gatherings on holidays. So here's another album from them.

I previously posted two full concerts they did, which they had originally posted on YouTube. This, by contrast, is a collection of individual songs that they also originally posted on YouTube. Don't mind the fact that even though this is "Home Concerts 3," the first songs here come before the dates of those two concerts. Close enough for horseshoes! ;)

The Petersens have done some nice originals, but their main forte is cover songs. These are all covers. They also have a special talent for taking songs from all sorts of genres and turning them into acoustic folk tunes. You'll see plenty of that here, with songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen and "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys getting a radical makeover. To some, it might seem gimmicky, but I think it just shows that some songs are just really good songs, so they work well in very different styles if played by talented people.

This album is 44 minutes long.

01 High Sierra (Petersens)
02 Cloudy Days (Petersens)
03 If I Needed You (Petersens)
04 La Vie en Rose (Petersens)
05 Wade in the Water (Petersens)
06 You're Still the One (Petersens)
07 Bohemian Rhapsody (Petersens)
08 I Want It That Way (Petersens)
09 The Scientist (Petersens)
10 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Petersens)
11 Mamma Mia (Petersens)
12 Top of the World (Petersens)

https://www.upload.ee/files/15271437/TPetersns_2020-2021_HmeConcrts3BransnMO__9-15-2019_to_4-14-2021_atse.zip.html

There are six people in the Petersens band, five of them members of the Petersen family. However, for this album cover, I'm only showing the three sisters, 'cos I thought it's a nice image of the three of them singing into the same microphone. I could be wrong, but I believe this is a screenshot of their video for "Mamma Mia."

Mary Chapin Carpenter - Home Concerts 5, Afton, VA, 10-18-2020 to 1-3-2021

Here's the fifth out of six home concert albums from Mary Chapin Carpenter. She started doing this in early 2020 and continued into early 2021. The songs here are chronologically ordered, as usual, and just barely dip into 2021 on the last song.

As with previous albums in this series, Carpenter played solo acoustic and talked a fair amount before each song. But also like those previous albums, I cut her talking down quite a lot, removing repetitive parts she said before each song as well as updates about her pets, and keeping the parts relevant to the songs she was playing.

For the last album in this series, I spent most of my write-up talking about the sound program created by the dog's squeaky toy. I'm glad to report that that toy didn't make much of an impact on this album. I think the only song where it can be heard is "Keeping the Faith." But luckily that was mainly during instrumental parts that were repeated, so I was able to eliminate most of the squeaking by replacing one part with another from elsewhere in the song. There's only a little squeaking at the last few seconds. There also is some squeaking in a couple places during the comments, but not enough to be annoying, in my opinion.

I believe there was only a single time Carpenter played piano instead of guitar during this entire series, and that's here, on the song "Thanksgiving Song."

This album is 48 minutes long.

As mentioned above, Carpenter made rare use of the piano on one of the songs here, so I took a screenshot of her at the piano on that song and used it for the album cover photo. The resulting image was rectangular in order to fit both the piano keys and her head into the frame. So I have some black space on both sides.

In February 2025, I upgraded the cover image with the use of the Krea AI program.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band - The Fireside Sessions, Episode 3: Jacksonville, FL, 3-4-2021

Here's something from an artist I've never posted music from before. The Tedeschi Trucks Band is a "jam band" with no less than 11 members, led by the married musical couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. Tedeschi does most of the singing, and also plays excellent lead guitar. Trucks, a former member of the Allman Brothers Band (and nephew to founding ABB member Butch Trucks), does the slide guitar. Rolling Stone Magazine has once listed him as one of the top 20 guitar players of all time.

Given that the band has 11 members in it, it goes without saying that when they play, their music has a full sound. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were left unable to play concerts for most of 2020 and part of 2021. Some of them got together and recorded six home concert during that time, each with different line-ups. One has to pay to view these concerts through nugs.net. I don't want to take all that material away for free here. But I think it's okay to post one, as kind of a teaser, to let people know the others are available.

I decided to pick the third episode. That one, plus the fifth one, are unusual in that they feature only the two main members, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, playing in an acoustic format. One or both of them use electric guitars on some songs to help with the lead guitar soloing, but it's just them and their guitars. They did a nice mix of originals and covers, with most of the originals being songs they haven't played that often with the full band.

Normally, I'm not that into jam bands, because I'm mainly about solid songwriting, and I often feel the soloing talent covers up a lack of songwriting talent. But in this case, it can't be denied these two people have talent up the yin yang, with Tedeschi's vocals being a particular highlight.

This album is exactly one hour long.

Elle Cordova & Toni Lindgren - Sunday Morning Live, Minneapolis, MN, 8-8-2021

I've posted a lot of music from Elle Cordova and Toni Lindgren in recent months. But all of that has been their acoustic covers of (mostly) famous songs. However, Elle Cordova in particular is a talented songwriter, and she's put out some albums that are all or mostly all originals.

Most every Sunday, the duo posts a new cover song they've done. But this last Sunday, two days ago as I write this, they did a surprise short home concert instead. So here it is for you. Most of the songs are originals, with these exceptions: "Ain't Goin' Down till the Sun Comes Up," "Boogie Shoes," "Angel from Montgomery," and "Don't Dream It's Over."

If you've been enjoying their covers but haven't heard any of their originals yet, this is a good way to get into that aspect of their music. As with their Sunday cover songs, everything here is performed with just the two of them, usually on acoustic guitars, though the multi-talented Toni Lindgren occasionally switches to or doubles up on other instruments, such as harmonica.

This album is 41 minutes long. The concert actually was about 49 minutes long, but I cut out a lot of the talking between songs. Most of the stuff I cut out had to do with technical problems, including several minutes at the beginning when they were having trouble with their recording equipment. I also cut out most of their credits to donors, since that doesn't mean anything except for the specific people mentioned. I tried to keep everything else though. I also boosted the volume of the banter, since it was rather low compared to the music.

Morgan James - Valentine's Day Love Songs, Home Concert, New York City, 2-14-2021

As I write this, the coronavirus pandemic situation is improving, but it's far from over. In terms of music, some artists have resumed performing concerts, presumably with social distancing precautions in place,  but many have not. So the home concert trend continues. There aren't nearly as many as there were in the middle of 2020, but much of that is because the musicians who got serious about doing them decided to monetize them, offering pay to listen/view performances in lieu of having traditional concerts in front of audiences.

Morgan James is a case in point. She posted a lot of free material on YouTube in the first months of the pandemic (which I haven't gotten around to posting here yet, but I will). Then she switched to posting one concert a week that one has to pay for through StageIt, with each one having a different musical theme. I don't want to hinder an artist's effort to make a living through such things, so I won't be posting any of those (except perhaps way afterwards, when they've long stopped being offered for money). However, two days ago she posted one of her weekly shows for free on YouTube, so I consider that fair game.

This show took place on Valentine's Day, so it has a love songs theme. There's not much else to say, except that the sound quality is excellent, and all the songs are performed with just the voices of Morgan James and sometimes her husband Doug Wamble, plus a single acoustic guitar played by Wamble. I included all the music, but I cut out a few minutes of the banter between songs. I removed bits that I didn't think would have replay value, such as a complaint about a spammer or some thanks to specific people who donated some money while listening.

This album is 54 minutes long.

Here's a list of the original artists that made these songs well known:

01 L-O-V-E [L Is for the Way You Look at Me] - Nat King Cole
03 Let's Stay Together - Al Green
05 Feel like Makin' Love - Roberta Flack
07 Your Song - Elton John

22 Oh Me, Oh My [I'm a Fool for You Baby] - Lulu / Aretha Franklin
