John Fogerty - BBC Sessions, Volume 1: In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-23-2007

Here's John Fogerty, formerly of Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), performing at the massive annual Glastonbury Festival in 2007.

Note that he also performed at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, and I've posted that album already. Both of his performances were broadcast by the BBC, since they broadcast most of that festival every year. So I've made this one "BBC Sessions, Volume 1" and renamed the 2025 one to be "BBC Sessions, Volume 2." If you want to get the renamed version of that other one, with updated cover art and mp3 tags, here's the link:

https://albumsthatshouldexist.blogspot.com/2025/08/john-fogerty-bbc-in-concert-glastonbury.html

This concert was in a very big pile I have of BBC concerts I want to post here eventually. But recently, a volunteer named Ed said he wanted to help get albums ready. He picked this one as one of the first ones he wanted to help with, so it moved up to the top of the pile. He worked on improving the sound balance and such.

Fogerty released the studio album "Revival" in 2007. I consider it one of his best solo albums, so I was surprised and disappointed to see that he didn't include a single song for it. But then I realized that this concert took place in June 2007, and "Revival" wasn't released until October. So he probably wasn't ready to play those in concert until after the album came out.

But it also was a bit strange that he practically played nothing but CCR songs, or cover songs associated with CCR, like "Cotton Fields" and "I Heard It through the Grapevine." The only song from his solo career was the last one, "Rockin' All Over the World." That's a bit unfortunate, because while he wrote many great CCR songs, he wrote many great solo career songs as well.

Weirdly, this concert is missing just one song, according to the setlist.fm song list. "Travelin' Band" was the first song performed. Two songs, "Green River" and "Ramble Tamble," came from a different source than the usual BBC broadcast, but essentially had the same sound quality.

This album is an hour and 10 minutes long.

01 talk (John Fogerty)
02 Green River (John Fogerty)
03 talk (John Fogerty)
04 Who'll Stop the Rain (John Fogerty)

Diana Ross - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-26-2022

Here's Diana Ross performing a set at the annual Glastonbury Festival. It's the only music I've found from her performed for the BBC.

This was the only time Ross has performed for the festival. In 2022, when this concert took place, she was 78 years old. Unfortunately, I think she might have waited a little too long, because her vocals made me wince a few times. I wonder if that's due to age, or if she doesn't have the kind of voice needed to fill massive venues like this one, or some combination. But in any case, the vocals might be a bit off sometimes, but she performed classic after classic. She's sold over 100 million records in her music career, both as part of the Supremes and then in her long solo career.

This is another album I wasn't actively looking for, but I saw that musical friend Prosprog had it, so I decided what the heck, why not post it. Just like the Lionel Richie one I also posted today, I saw that it has been available as a massive video file. But this might be the first time it's being shared as an audio bootleg, I'm not sure.

This album is an hour and 14 minutes long.

01 Instrumental (Diana Ross)
02 I'm Coming Out (Diana Ross)
03 More Today than Yesterday (Diana Ross)
04 My World Is Empty without You (Diana Ross)
05 Baby Love (Diana Ross)
06 Stop, in the Name of Love (Diana Ross)
07 You Can't Hurry Love (Diana Ross)
08 talk (Diana Ross)
09 Chain Reaction (Diana Ross)
10 talk (Diana Ross)
11 Thank You (Diana Ross)
12 talk (Diana Ross)
13 Tomorrow (Diana Ross)
14 talk (Diana Ross)
15 If the World Just Danced (Diana Ross)
16 I'm Still Waiting (Diana Ross)

Lionel Richie - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2015

Here's the sole BBC album I can find for R&B superstar Lionel Richie. It's a set from the 2015 Glastonbury Festival.

I wasn't looking for anything from Richie, but I saw musical friend Progsprog had this one, so I figured what the heck, and asked for it. I did then look around, and I found it elsewhere, but only as a very large video file. This could be the first time it's being widely shared as an audio bootleg.

This is the only time Richie has appeared at the massive annual Glastonbury Festival. By 2015, he was past his commercial peak. But he sold close to 100 million records in his career, so he still had to be a very popular act at the festival.

As expected, his set mostly consisted of big hits from his time in the Commodores and his solo career. The final song, "We Are the World," was co-written by him and Michael Jackson.

This album is an hour and 18 minutes long.

01 Running with the Night (Lionel Richie)
02 Penny Lover (Lionel Richie)
03 talk (Lionel Richie)
04 Easy (Lionel Richie)
05 You Are (Lionel Richie)

Don McLean - BBC Sessions, Volume 8: In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-26-2011

Here's the eighth, and probably last, BBC album I'm posting from Don McLean. This is his appearance at the enormous annual Glastonbury Festival in 2011.

This appears to be the only time McLean has performed at this festival. The good news is we have this recording at all. This is a bootleg I got from a die-hard McLean fan. Then, a couple of days after I posted it, musical friend Progsprog noticed his version was almost twice as long, and sent that to me, so I upgraded to the longer version. I don't believe it's been in circulation on the Internet until now.

McLean was assisted by a small band. At the time of this concert, he was about 66 years old. (He's 80 years old as I write this in 2025.) But while he was getting up there in age, I'm glad to say I didn't notice it affecting his performance in this concert all that much.

McLean didn't play some of his best known original songs, like "Castles in the Air," "And I Love You So," and "Dreidel." Instead, he chose to play some covers, like starting out with a medley of three Buddy Holly songs, as well as a medley of two country songs, "Tulsa Time" and "Deep in the Heart of Texas," and an Elvis Presley song, "I Gotta Know." Plus, "Crying" is a cover originally by Roy Orbison, though McLean had a big hit with it as well.

This album is 59 minutes long.

01 talk (Don McLean)
02 Well... All Right - Crying, Waiting, Hoping - Peggy Sue Got Married (Don McLean)
03 La La Love You (Don McLean)
04 Love in My Heart (Don McLean)

Alison Moyet - BBC Sessions, Volume 3: In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-26-1993

Here's a third BBC album from British singer-songwriter Alison Moyet. It's a set from the annual, massive Glastonbury Festival.

I didn't even know this recording existed. I have it thanks to musical friend Progsprog. So a big thanks to him.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this was an acoustic performance. She was supported a little bit, but just light touches, such as hand drums instead of a full drum set. That's pretty impressive, considering she played songs like "Situation," basically a disco song, and ended the concert with the hard rocking classic "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin.

At the time of the concert, Moyet hadn't released a new album since 1991. She would release the album "Essex" in 1994. She played a few songs that would appear on that album: "Whispering Your Name," "And I Know," and "Falling." She also sang the classic country song, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," which she's never released.

The music here is unreleased. The sound quality is nearly excellent.

This album is 55 minutes long.

01 It Won't Be Long (Alison Moyet)
02 Rise (Alison Moyet)
03 talk (Alison Moyet)
04 Perfect Day (Alison Moyet)

08 And I Know (Alison Moyet)
09 talk (Alison Moyet)
10 Ne Me Quitte Pas (Alison Moyet)
11 The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face - Only You (Alison Moyet)

Blondie - BBC Sessions, Volume 2: In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-25-1999

I was all set to post a "PBS Soundstage" concert by Blondie today. But when I looked in my Blondie music folder, I noticed that I'd never posted this BBC concert, even though I was sure I had. So I'm posting this first. The Soundstage one will come soon.

As an aside, note that I previously posted another Blondie BBC concert, from 1979. Since this is the second one I've found, today I renamed that other one "Volume 1." Here's a link to the updated version of that one if you want to redownload it:

https://albumsthatshouldexist.blogspot.com/2022/07/blondie-bbc-in-concert-apollo-theatre.html

Anyway, this concert is from 1999. The band Blondie was together from 1974 to 1982. They broke up for nearly two decades, but finally reunited in 1997, and put out a new studio album in 1999, called "No Exit." Usually when it comes to reunions like this, the new music doesn't sell very well. But Blondie found great success with their single "Maria," which reached Number One in Britain in 1999. So that made this a good time for another BBC concert.

Naturally, they performed the song "Maria" here. But they only performed two other songs from their new album, "Screaming Skin" and "Nothing Is Real but the Girl." Otherwise, the album consists of their best known songs from the 1970s and 80s. One exception is "Shayla," a deep cut from their 1979 album "Eat to the Beat."

The sound quality is excellent. The music here remains unreleased.

This album is an hour and eight minutes long.

01 Call Me (Blondie)
02 Hanging on the Telephone (Blondie)
03 Screaming Skin (Blondie)
04 Atomic (Blondie)
05 Shayla (Blondie)
06 Union City Blue (Blondie)

Supergrass - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-27-2025

Finally! The flood of albums from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival ends here. I posted all the sets that got enough votes in the poll I made for this festival, which I think ends up being 21 albums in total. This last one is from the British band Supergrass.

I like Supergrass quite a lot. I've only posted one album from them so far, but I plan on posting more. I already have a bunch of their BBC albums ready to post, though that'll have to wait since I have a very long line of albums to post. But once I do post those, this one will get renamed, to take into account the earlier BBC volumes in the series.

Supergrass were in existence from 1993 to 2010. They broke up for ten years. But since then, they've reunited with all the original members. They've occasionally gone on tour, but they haven't released any new music (at least not yet).

The music here is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent.

This album is an hour and six minutes long.

Black Uhuru - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-29-2025

Here's yet more from the 2025 Glastonbury. This time, it's a set by Jamaican reggae band Black Uhuru.

Black Uhuru has been around since the 1970s, though they've gone through a lot of line-up changes. In 2025, they're a threesome, with only one original member remaining.

Here's their Wikipedia entry:

Black Uhuru - Wikipedia

I already posted a 1982 concert from them, which you can find here:

https://albumsthatshouldexist.blogspot.com/2024/03/jamaica-world-music-festival-montego_70.html

As usual for this festival, the music here is unreleased, but the sound quality is excellent. I found a high-quality video file, converted it to audio, and broke it into mp3s.

This album is an hour and two minutes long.

Nile Rodgers & Chic - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-29-2025

Here's another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This time, it's Nile Rodgers and Chic.

I already posted two albums in my Covered series highlighting the songwriting of Nile Rodgers (and his now-deceased songwriting partner Bernard Edwards). So you can see from that that I already admire Rodgers' musical talent. But most of all, this is a fun listen that makes you want to get up and dance.

It's kind of redundant to bill this as "Nile Rodgers and Chic," since Rodgers was the main musical force in the band Chic ever since the 1970s. Probably this is credited that way for greater name recognition. Most of the songs are written or co-written by Rodgers, though a few, like the ones made famous by David Bowie and Madonna, were technically only produced by him (though I would strongly suspect he did enough to share songwriting credits on those too).

As usual for this festival, the music is unreleased, and the sound quality is excellent. Also as usual, I converted a video file to audio format, and broke the music into mp3s.

This album is one hour long.

01 Le Freak (Nile Rodgers & Chic)

Amyl & the Sniffers - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2025

Once again, the flood of posts from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival continues. This time, it's the Australian band Amyl and the Sniffers.

I hate to say it, but here's another musical act from this festival that left me unimpressed. But hey, they won enough votes in the poll I made for the festival, so here they are. Maybe you'll feel differently.

Here's the Wikipedia entry about the band:

Cymande - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-29-2025

Here's another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This one is a lesser known but interesting band called Cymande.

I'm so glad that this band got enough votes in the Glastonbury poll I had here. I had liked some of their music, but I'd had no idea they'd still existed in 2025. They are a British band, but many members originally came from different countries in the Caribbean, and that mixture led to an usual musical style. Their Wikipedia article says, "Cymande were noted for an eclectic mix of funk, soul, reggae, rock, African music, calypso, and jazz." They released three well-regarded albums between 1971 and 1974, but then they broke up. However, they regrouped in the 2010s, and released new albums in 2015 and 2025.

Here's their Wikipedia entry, if you want to know more:

The 1975 - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-27-2025

Here's more from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This time, it's the band The 1975.

I hadn't heard their music before listening to this. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. But I'm posting this here since they got enough votes in the poll I made for the festival. Interestingly, a Vice Magazine article called them both "the most hated and most loved band in the world." If you're unfamiliar, give them a listen and see where your reaction falls. They must be doing something right, since they've sold tons of albums, enough to make them one of the main headliners of the festival.

Here's their Wikipedia link:

Brandi Carlile - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2025

Here we go with another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This time, it's singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile.

I have posted many a Brandi Carlile album, and there's no denying her vocal talent. So it's easy for me to give this a thumbs-up. She mostly performed her own songs, but she also did two covers she's never released on record, "Fake Plastic Trees" and "Woodstock."

Everything here is unreleased. As I usually did for this festival, I converted video to audio and broke the music into mp3s.

This album is an hour and one minute long.

Olivia Rodrigo - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-29-2025

Here's more from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. I'm trying to post a couple of these a day until I'm all done. This time, it's Olivia Rodrigo.

In the last couple of decades, there have been a lots of young and beautiful female singers who are style over substance. They've got lots of charisma, but they often can't sing well without the help of Autotune, and they have a teams songwriters to write all their songs. Olivia Rodrigo is different. I realized she's actually a really good singer when I stumbled across a video of her singing "You're So Vain," which you can see here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2veI5qnKxo

And she actually writes her songs, as you can tell by looking at the credits on her albums. Incredibly, the average number of co-writers on hit songs these days is eight or nine. But she writes songs by herself or just one co-writer. Despite being only 22 years old at the time of this concert, she's already so big that she was one of the top headliners for the festival. So kudos to her.

Anyway, if you want to know more about her, here's her Wikipedia page:

Olivia Rodrigo - Wikipedia

By the way, this set has a prominent guest star, Robert Smith of the Cure. He dueted with her on two famous Cure songs.

Everything here is unreleased. As I usually did for this festival, I found a high-quality video file, converted it to audio, and broke it into mp3s.

This album is an hour and 25 minutes long.

The Libertines - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-29-2025

The flood of albums from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival continues, with a set by the British band the Libertines.

I gotta say this band didn't impress me. It's not that they're bad, but they didn't make much of an impression. But I promised to post all the sets from this festival that got enough votes in the poll I put forward, so here you are.

If you want to know more, here's their Wikipedia entry:

Weezer - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2025

Here's more from the flood of albums from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This time, it's the band Weezer.

In my opinion, Weezer's discography is a mixed bag. If you look at the crowd-sourced ratings of their albums at rateyourmusic.com, they have some very highly rated albums (their first two especially) and also some that are shockingly low. But they've been around for a long time, since the mid-1990s, and have enough good songs for a solid concert here.

If you want to know more about them, here's their Wikipedia:

Weezer - Wikipedia

As usual for this festival, everything here is unreleased. I started from a high-quality video file, converted it to audio, and broke it into mp3s.

I listened to this, and I have to admit I wasn't impressed. But I promised to post all the top vote getters from my poll about this festival, so here you are.

Beth Gibbons - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2025

Here's another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This time, it's a set by Beth Gibbons.

Gibbons is best known for being the lead singer for the band Portishead. That band only released three albums in the 1990s and 2000s, but they were very well received, both critically and commercially. In 2024, Gibbons released just her second solo album, "Lives Outgrown." It too was critically acclaimed, making many best album of the year lists.

I'm keeping my write-ups for these Glastonbury albums short, so here's a Wikipedia entry on her if you want to know more:

Beth Gibbons - Wikipedia

As with most albums I made from this festival, I took a high-quality video file of the concert, converted it to audio, and broke it into mp3s. Everything here is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent.

This album is 58 minutes long.

Father John Misty - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2025

Here's another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. It's a set by Father John Misty (real name Josh Tillman).

As with most albums from this festival, I'm keeping my write-up short. I'll just say that Father John Misty is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter. He hasn't had really big sales, but he did have a big hit in 2016 with the song "Real Love Baby." At the time of this concert, he was touring to support his 2024 album "Mahashmashana," and half of the songs performed here are from that album.

Here's his Wikipedia page, if you want to know more:

Father John Misty - Wikipedia

Everything here is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent.

This album is one hour long.

01 I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All (Father John Misty)

Alanis Morissette - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-27-2025

Here is another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This one features a set by singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette.

As usual for this festival, I'm trying to keep my write-ups short so I can post more of these, faster. At the time of this concert, her big selling years are behind her. She sold tens of millions of albums in the 1990s, but her two most recent albums at the time of this concert did even go gold. However, she still put on a very entertaining concert, full of crowd-pleasing songs.

This album is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent. The only problem was with the song "All I Really Want." It had a drop out, but I was able to patch it up. That's why that song has "[Edit]" in its title.

This album is 58 minutes long.

01 Intro - Hand in My Pocket (Alanis Morissette)
02 Right through You (Alanis Morissette)
03 A Man - Hands Clean (Alanis Morissette)
04 Head Over Feet (Alanis Morissette)
