Sugarloaf - Ebbets Field, Denver, CO, 1-15-1975

Here is another Ebbets Field radio broadcast. This one features the band Sugarloaf in early 1975.

Sugarloaf had a strange career. They essentially were two hit wonders, with their hits four years apart. In 1970 their song "Green-Eyed Lady" made it to Number Three in the United States single chart. Then, in 1974, when it seems that man's commercial prospects were over, they had another Top Ten hit in the United States with this song "Don't Call Us. We'll Call You."

However, these thoughts were somewhat atypical for the band. For instance, the band's debut album mostly consisted of instrumental prog rock. Also, the band wasn't that popular other than their two hit singles. But they were more popular in Denver, where this concert took place, because they were a Denver based band. As far as I know, this is the only Sugarloaf live recording from the 1970s.

Here is their Wikipedia page if you want to know more:

I believe this has been officially released as the album "Alive in America" in 2022. But it is such an obscure copy that I couldn't find a copy. However, that doesn't matter much since I'm sure it was sourced from the exact same radio broadcast as this bootleg.

This album is 55 minutes long.

The cover image is a screenshot I took from a video of their appearance on the "Midnight Special" TV show, aired on February 28, 1975. It shows lead singer Jerry Corbetta.
