Spirit - Ebbets Field, Denver, CO, 10-30-1974

After a week of Brian Wilson album posts, it's back to more of the Ebbets Field radio broadcasts. I would have to double check, but I believe this is the last one from 1974. Most of the remaining ones I am planning on posting come from 1975 with a few from 1976. This one features the band Spirit.

In my opinion, Spirit had their best years from 1967 to 1970. At the end of 1970, the band lost two original members, Jay Ferguson, and Mark Andes. The loss of Ferguson was a particularly big blow, because he was one of the band's lead singers and songwriters. However, the band recruited, new members and carried on. I'm not sure who exactly was in the band at the time of this concert, but it was led by the original members Randy California on lead vocals and lead guitar, and Ed Cassidy on drums.

The band hadn't released an original album since "Feedback" in 1972. However, the band was still coming up with lots of new songs. Most of the material here is either songs written after 1970 or cover versions, with a few classics from 1970 or before.

All of the music here is unreleased, I believe. The sound quality is excellent.
