John Stewart - Ebbets Field, Denver, CO, 4-23-1975

Here's yet another Ebbets Field radio broadcast. This one is a concert by singer songwriter John Stewart in 1975.

I haven't posted any albums by Stewart before. However, when I posted music from the "Playboy After Dark" TV show, he appeared on two volumes, specifically Volume Two and Volume Nine. So check those out if you are a fan of his music.

Stewart's music career had some unusual ups and downs when it came to commercial success. In 1961, he was selected to join the very successful folk group the Kingston Trio. That group broke up in 1967. But that same year, he had his biggest success as a songwriter when the Monkees had a huge hit with his song "Daydream Believer." He then started a solo career. But while he released many critically, acclaimed albums, his sales were not so great. However, in 1979, he had an unexpected big hit in the United States with his song "Gold." Not only did that song make the Top Five, But he had two more Top Forty hits that year. So he briefly became a star at the age of 40. But he wasn't able to follow it up with any more hits. He died in 2008 at the age of 68.

Here is a link to his Wikipedia page if you want to know more:

In 1975, he released the studio album "Wingless Angels." So many of the songs here are from that album.

As far as I know, this concert is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent.

This album is an hour and seven minutes long.
