Announcement: A New YouTube Channel!

I posted an announcement yesterday that the host of this blog, blogger.com, seems to be suddenly getting tougher on what it will allow me to post. In fact, not only did three albums I recently posted get hidden yesterday, but another one got hidden today, the Doobie Brothers concert at the SNACK benefit in 1975. That one also is completely unreleased music, as far as I know, and it was posted last month but only flagged today. So I have no idea what's going on or how much more of this kind of thing will follow.

But on the plus side, this trouble has forced me to finally get my butt in gear and start a YouTube channel. I'd had that on my mental to-do list for years, but today I actually did it. You can find it here:

Paul ATSE (Albums That Should Exist) - YouTube

So far, I've only posted on album there, the live Animals concert I also posted here today. But I figured out how to post things (it's kind of a pain in the butt, and there's a lot of waiting for uploading involved), so I plan to post a lot more in the future. I'm going to focus on posting completely unreleased concerts there for the time being, so I don't run the risk of getting in trouble there too.

If you're a fan of this blog, please bookmark or otherwise note the URL of my YouTube channel so if this blog suddenly goes "POOF," at least I'll still be reachable there. I would like to move this blog to somewhere safer in the near future, but they might zap me before I manage to do that. In such a case, I can let you know where to find the new location through my YouTube page.

Sheesh. It's not easy running a blog like this these days, but I'm not going to let them run me off.

  1. Good luck with this Paul. Can I suggest you do as Edge does on TUBE and say there are no links to down loads on this site. Very best wishes for the future and look forward to future posts ND.

PS forgot to mention I used to live in Liverpool and over the road from me lived Alan Williams but that's a story for the future.

    1. Thanks. But why and where should I say there are no links to downloads on this site? There are.

  2. By the way, just between you and me, nobody has asked me to take down any of these recently hidden albums at SoulseekQT, so they're still being shared there!

    1. I'm just uploading the audio to YouTube - no video. I don't deal with video files of music stuff at all. I'll keep posting albums here, but only completely unreleased stuff until I can sort out what's happening and maybe move my blog. Then, whenever I'm posting something to YouTube, I'm including a link back here if people want to get to the mp3 download links. I don't plan on having anything at YouTube that I won't also put here (except for the rare cases where the YouTube copyright police allow something these copyright police don't).

  5. You know we had the same problem with blogger taking our post down about a year ago. Then after a week or two went by they reinstated everything they had removed. I think that might be happening in your case. (Let's Hope)

    1. Can you explain more about that? What's your blog? What was taken down? Did you apply to have stuff reinstated, or did it happen on its own? I'm afraid to apply for reinstatement, because I don't want an actual human being to look at my blog, since they might find other things to object to.

    2. I work over at The Voodoo Wagon/Floppy Boot Stomp, we got the message from blogger(around 6 months, a year ago) that said, something to the effect of "Your post of (insert name here) has violated our terms of.....blah, blah, blah. All we post (pretty much) are boots. Then one day the stuff magically reappeared. What file host were you using? Cause attached to our takedowns was this disclaimer "Your content has violated our malware and viruses policy" turns out we were using a hosting site that went tits up and had been hijacked by unscrupulous characters that made the hosting site look legit. Hope that helps.

  6. I've added another seven albums to YouTube, Joan Armatrading and the Animals so far. I'm going to keep adding concerts, working my way through the alphabet, but it's slow going, mostly due to the slow speed of uploading to YouTube. This could easily take weeks to finish, even with me only posting a small portion of my entire blog content there (just the totally unreleased concerts, at least at this point).

  7. Excellent, Paul. Weirdly though, the audio cuts out after a few seconds on all except "The Animals: Mid Hudson Civic Center". Anybody else see that problem?

    1. Crap! Thanks for warning me. I'm new to this, and obviously I must be doing something wrong. I'm hiding the others now. I'll fix em and then repost.

  8. Hi Paul. Just curious, I ran into three older posts that have never had their links updated from Zippyshare. I wasn't sure if that was an oversight or if there was a reason they hadn't been reposted?
-Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - As I Come of Age - Various Songs (1970)
-Jimi Hendrix - Hear My Train A-Comin' - Various Songs (1969)

    1. That's a very good question. I left those there on purpose, to remind myself that they need to be fixed soon. I plan on making major changes to those. Thanks for the reminder. I'll try to do that soon.
