US Festival '83, Glen Helen Regional Park, San Bernardino, CA, 5-28-1983 - Day 1, Part 2: INXS

The second act on the first day of the 1983 US Festival was the Australian band INXS.

INXS would eventually go on to become massively successful worldwide - they've sold at least 75 million records. But the vast majority of that success came after this festival. At the time of the festival, they had some striking similarities to the first act, Divinyls. Both bands were from Australia, were formed in 1980, and were just starting to break internationally. In the case of INXS, they had put out three albums by the time of the festival, but only their most recent one, 1982's "Shoobah Shoobah," had been released in the U.S. at that point. It contained one hit in the U.S., "The One Thing," which made it to Number 30 in the singles charts. Another song from the album, "Don't Change," only made it to Number 80 in the charts. However, it would go on to become one of the band's best known songs, eventually making it to a couple of lists of the best Australian songs of all time.

Here's the band's Wikipedia page if you want to know more:

The band's entire set is included here. It's still a relatively short set though, since the band wasn't well known at the time. Four of the songs eventually officially released as bonus tracks on a 40th anniversary version of their "Shoobah Shoobah" album. But the sound quality of all of these are equally excellent.

This album is 36 minutes long.

Note that, for the track numbers, these continue where the numbers from the previous act left off. I'm continuing that pattern for the rest of the first day of the festival, in case some people want to easily listen to the entire day in order. Then I'll start the count again for day two, and so on.
