Joe Jackson - BBC Sessions, Volume 2: In Concert, Hammersmith Palais, London, Britain, 10-27-1980

I've been having some trouble posting Joe Jackson's BBC material. I tried to post Volume 1 here, but it got taken down due to a copyright issue. I then tried posting it to YouTube, and it survived for a while, but it recently got taken down there too. So I posted a Volume 1B concert instead, with very similar material. (Don't look now, but you just might see the link to Volume 1 in the comment section there.) Anyway, I don't think I'm going to have any trouble with this one, because unlike Volume 1, none of the performances here have been officially released. Knock on wood, and get it while you can.

Here's another BBC concert. This one isn't that different from the concerts in Volumes 1 and 1B, because this took place only about ten months later. He'd released his third album in the meantime, "Beat Crazy!" and there are four songs here from that (tracks 4, 5, 8, and 9). But overall, he was still in his "angry young man" mode. That would drastically change with his next album and beyond.

The sound quality on this concert is excellent. No complaints from me.

This album is 51 minutes long.

  1. Pretty cool. There was a Jumpin' Jive Live! from a radio concert I think I got in a tape trade, a show from 1981 maybe? in London?
Not sure at all if it was a BBC joint but: Maybe you have that broadcast.
