Norah Jones - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 11-8-2015

Here's another album from the April 2026 leak of mono soundboard concerts from Port Chester, New York. I'm trying to prioritize these, because it seems most of them haven't been shared much, and the original leak has disappeared. This is a Norah Jones concert from 2015.

In 2015, Jones didn't really have an album to promote. Her most recent solo studio album at the time was "Little Broken Hearts," released in 2012. She would release "Day Breaks" in 2016. However, only two songs here are from that album ("Flipside" and "And Then There Was You"). So she performed songs from all over her career up until that point.

The music is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent.

Diana Krall - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 3-12-2015

Here's yet another concert from the April 2026 leak of dozens of concerts from the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. Nobody else seems to be posting these anymore, but I have dozens more I want to post. This one is a concert by jazz pianist Diana Krall.

This concert was part of a tour to support her 2015 album "Wallflower." It was released earlier that month, and this was probably one of the first concerts of that tour, if not the very first. 

The recording of this concert seems to have been very obscure. Even months after the leak mentioned above, I couldn't find it on any of the usual bootleg sites. Heck, setlist.fm doesn't even have this concert listed in their very big database. So hopefully this post will change that. 

Like all the recordings from that leak, the sound quality is excellent, although the recording is only in mono. I found a video of this concert (from the leak) then converted it to audio and chopped it into mp3s. The video is too big to share here (7 GB!) but I'm sharing it via SoulseekQT.

Pat Benatar - Greatest Hits Live (1980-2015) (A Mike Solof Guest Post)

Here's another nice guest post by Mike Solof. It's a collection of the best songs by Pat Benatar - as judged by Mike, who is a big fan. But there's a twist, because he chose all live versions. Well, except for three songs at the end he couldn't bear leaving out, which apparently were never performed live.

This album came to be because I had posted a concert by Joan Jett, and I was planning on posting one by Pat Benatar as well. Those two have always been linked in my mind, since they were pioneering female rock and rollers that became famous at the start of the 1980s. Anyway, since Mike is a bigger Benatar fan than I am, I asked him what would be the best concert recording from her. Instead, he came up with this idea, to make something that contains all of her best known songs, most of them performed within a year or two of being recorded.

The songs are in rough chronological order of when they were first released. But the actual performance dates jump all over, from 1980 to 2015. A little over half of the songs here are from bootlegs, but very excellent sounding ones. The following songs, however, are from official live albums: tracks 8, 9, 10, 12, 17, 20, and 24 through 28. You can find more details in the mp3 tags.

Cheap Trick - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 9-26-2015

Here's another concert recording from an April 2026 leak of dozens of concerts that took place at the Capitol Theatre, in Port Chester, New York. Like all the others from that leak, this is an excellent soundboard bootleg, though the sound is in mono. This concerts features the band Cheap Trick. 

This recording hasn't been publicly available before, at least not in this curated form. It was available in the raw form of the original leak, but those files have mostly disappeared from the Internet by now, as far as I can tell.

Cheap Trick had their commercial heyday in the late 1970s and early 1980s. But they've kept going, and are still going today, as I write this in 2026. Unlike a lot of bands that have been around a very long time, they haven't turned only into an oldies act. In fact some of their better rated albums (judging by the crowd-sourced rateyourmusic.com) are some later ones, such as "Rockford," released in 2006. 

This concert features a mix of older and newer (for 2015) songs, plus two covers, "The 'In' Crowd" and "I'm Waiting for the Man."

By the way, I took stock of how things are going with the posting of these Port Chester soundboard concerts. At first, a couple dozen, at least, were posted by others, saving me most of the work. But it seems those efforts have stopped. So I'm going to try to post the rest. I count about 30 more that interest me. It'll be a while though, since I have to chop single sound files into individual mp3s for most of these, just like I did for this one.

Here is another concert from the April 2026 Capitol Theater mono soundboard leak. This time, it's a concert by Joe Walsh.

Walsh had his commercial and critical heyday in the 1970s and 80s. But he has remained a strong performer long after that. This concert effectively served as a kind of greatest hits, with songs going back to his time in the James Gang, though not a lot from his time in the Eagles, just the songs "In the City" and "Pretty Maids All in a Row."

Nobody else seemed to be processing this one. So I made some audio adjustments to it and chopped it up into mp3's.

Covered: Brian Wilson, Volume 4: 2010-2016 (A Fabio from Rio Guest Post)

Here is more of the "Covered" series for Brian Wilson. This is the fourth out of five volumes.

This volume covers the first half of the 2010s, with yet another generation joining the ever-growing ranks of Brian Wilson admirers. By this point, his status as one of the most important songwriters of the second half of the twentieth century had long been firmly established.

You may notice several songs here performed by a relatively unknown artist named Kayla Williams. Fabio and I discovered her while searching for covers of some of Brian Wilson’s more obscure compositions. When we were unable to find suitable versions through the usual sources (tribute albums, cover-song databases, and fan recommendations) we turned to YouTube, which contains dozens, sometimes hundreds, of performances that are not documented elsewhere. This approach had already yielded excellent discoveries for previous "Covered" projects, such as those devoted to Neil Young and Tom Waits.

As it turned out, Kayla Williams is a remarkably talented singer who has recorded more than two dozen Brian Wilson songs. We were impressed enough that we are even considering assembling a future collection dedicated entirely to her interpretations of his songs. For the time being, however, we have limited ourselves to three of her finest performances.

Another highlight of this volume is Lana Del Rey’s version of "The Last Song". The recording emerged as part of the "Big Leak", a recent wave of unreleased Beach Boys and Brian Wilson material that surfaced online, and one that will likely inspire future posts here at this blog. Although the track is officially credited to both Lana Del Rey and Brian Wilson, it is essentially a Lana solo performance, with Brian’s contribution remaining quite subtle.

Note that while Wilson had most of his commercial success with the Beach Boys, especially in the 1960s and 70s, he continued to write songs nearly to the end of his life. While he had more of a mixed record with those songs, sometimes he would show his old magic. So Fabio and I made a particular effort to include songs from the later part of his career when they were worthy of inclusion. But on this volume, The vast majority of songs were originally recorded much earlier in his music career.

Covered: George Harrison, Volume 6: 2015-2025

Here's the sixth and last "Covered" album for George Harrison.

Most people love the Beatles, and pretty much all their songs. So all of the songs Harrison wrote that were done by the Beatles have gotten good cover versions in this series. But, with the exception of his very popular album "All Things Must Pass," his solo career has gotten much less attention, and thus fewer covers. I've strived to include covers of all the songs I like from him. I couldn't always find even a decent cover, but I was successful most of the time.

In my opinion, Harrison was a very fascinating songwriter. On one hand, being in the Beatles, he learned from Paul McCartney and John Lennon how to write very catchy and poppy melodies. But on the other hand, he had a natural tendency to write songs with unusual and complicated chords. This led to Lennon repeatedly complaining how difficult it was to learn how to play Harrison's songs. On Harrison's best songs, he somehow managed to combine being catchy and poppy with unusual and complicated chords and other musical moves. That's not easy to pull off. 

But unfortunately, that has been another big reason many Harrison songs haven't been covered that much. He almost never wrote three or four chord songs. Out of the six volumes, this is the one where I have the most of his obscure and rarely covered songs, usually from his solo career. That's because, when looking for cover versions, my last resort is to find unreleased versions by lesser known musicians on YouTube. Most of those have taken place in the last ten years or so (as I write this in June 2026). Songs that fall into that category on this volume include "Nowhere to Go," "Cosmic Empire," "Poor Little Girl," "Miss O'Dell," "Beautiful Girl," and more. However, I always maintained quality control. There are a few more Harrison songs I wanted to include where none of the cover versions I found were good enough, in my opinion.

Two of the songs here have "[Edit]" in them. For "Circles" by Pete Zolli, there was some drumming on the song that I didn't like. Something about it seemed off. So I used the MVSEP program to remove the drumming. I thought the song was better that way. And for "Miss O'Dell" by Christopher Clause, this is a nice song, but little known, since it only ever came out as a B-side. So I didn't have many covers options. The version by Clause is very good. However, it was something he did live in the studio and then posted on YouTube. And in the live version, he kept making brief talking asides during the instrumental parts of the song. I thought all that talking was unnecessary and distracted from the song, so I used MVSEP to get rid of that, and just keep the singing.

It's very sad that Harrison died as young as he did. It's also a shame, from a musical point of view, That from 1982 until his death in 2001, he only put out two albums of new songs. We could have had so much more music from him. But at least what he did was usually of a high quality. His Beatles songs will never be forgotten. But I hope this series helps people better appreciate the songs he wrote in his solo career as well.

Here's the third volume out of four containing alternates to the "Covered" volumes made for the songs of Neil Young.

As with the other volumes in this series, the song selections were almost entirely made by guest poster Fabio from Rio. I just made a few small suggestions. So thanks again to him for his work on this.

Here's another concert from the April 2026 Port Chester mono soundboard leak. This one features Sarah McLachlan.

At the time of this concert, her most recent studio album was "Shine On," released in 2014, over a year earlier. She sang seven songs from that album. But it was an extra long concert, so she sang plenty of her earlier songs as well. She also sang "River," by Joni Mitchell. According to setlist.fm, she only performed that song three times that year, all of them during the Christmas season like this December concert.

The music here is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent.

Robert Plant - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 9-17-2015

Slowly but surely, I'm determined to post all the best stuff from the leak of concert bootlegs from Port Chester, New York. Here's a 2015 Robert Plant concert.

Musical associate Lil Panda did some work on the files here and then set them to me. He's very good at audio adjustments, better than me, so this sounds excellent.

At the time of this concert, Plant was promoting his 2014 album "Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar." It was the first of two albums he did with his back up band the Sensational Space Shifters. Only two songs performed were from that album though, maybe because it had been about a year since it had been released. He also mostly ignored his earlier solo albums. Instead, he leaned on cover songs and Led Zeppelin songs.

Tears for Fears - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 9-28-2015

Here's another concert from the recent release of soundboard boots from Port Chester, New York (as I write this is May 2026). At first, the vast majority of them were posted as a single sound file, without being broken into songs. But more and more are being broken into songs by other people. So I'm choosing to post albums out of those ones. I've already found about 30 of those, so expect to see a lot more of these get posted in the near future.

Tears for Fears mainly consists of Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. Orzabal continued the band basically as a solo project for most of the 1990s, without Smith. But Smith rejoined the band in the early 2000s, and they've been together even since. At the time of this concert, they hadn't released a new Tears for Fears album since "Everybody Loves a Happy Ending" in 2004. So they mostly played older classics. They also included a drastically reworked version of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean."

I didn't do much editing. But I did boost the volume of the cheering after many songs. One flaw with soundboards is they often capture the stage sounds well, but not much of the crowd. That was the case here, though only to a moderate degree.

Steve Winwood - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 4-24-2015

I posted about a week ago how there's been a recent leak of dozens of soundboard quality concerts at a Port Chester, New York venue. I'm still waiting on a lot of these. Every day, it seems someone or another is at least chopping up the single music files into songs. But since some are already converted, I can start posting those. I was feeling like listening to Steve Winwood, so I did this one.

Winwood hasn't released a new studio album since 2008. So he stuck to playing classics from earlier in his career. The only semi-recent song he played was "Dirty City," from 2008.

The sound quality is excellent (though in mono). The only tinkering I did was to boost the volume of the applause at the ends of songs, plus boosting the banter. Oh, and I boosted the volume of all the songs in general. For some reason, most of these Port Chester boots seem to have quite low volume settings.

Various Artists - Covered: Neil Young, Volume 7: 2012-2016

Here we go with another Neil Young “Covered” album. Since I’m still on vacation, I’ll keep this short. Once again, thanks to Fabio from Rio for putting this together. And here’s his comments:

By the early 2010s, Neil Young's influence had spread even further across musical generations. Indie folk, alt-country, and singer-songwriter circles were openly embracing the emotional directness and melodic simplicity that had always defined Young's songwriting. At the same time, the digital era had changed how tribute recordings appeared: covers increasingly emerged from online projects, independent releases, and small tribute compilations rather than traditional label-driven albums. Young himself remained highly visible during this period, releasing politically engaged records and increasingly speaking out on environmental issues, while continuing to inspire younger artists discovering his catalog for the first time. The recordings in this volume reflect that diverse ecosystem: indie reinterpretations, roots-oriented performances, and the occasional stylistic surprise.

Bettye LaVette - Season of Change - Non-Album Tracks (2012-2017)

I recently came across a recent Bettye LaVette concert I was impressed by and plan on posting here soon. That reminded me that I've never finished posting a couple more collections of non-album tracks from her. So here's the next one.

As I've mentioned previously, LaVette has had an unusual career. She had some success in the 1960s as a soul singer. But then she struggled for a long, long time, only to have a big and prolonged career revival since the early 2000s. That revival gave her a lot of opportunities to appear in tribute concerts, on other artists' albums, and the like. This album is a mix of those sorts of things.

Tracks 6, 7, 8, and 11 are unreleased. All of them come from appearances at tribute concerts. Track 9 is a live performance too, but it comes from a deluxe edition version of one of her albums. For all these live songs, I used MVSEP to get rid of the crowd noise.

The other songs are all released, and from studio albums. The first two tracks here are actually from an EP she released, called "More Thankful, More Thoughtful." It consisted of extra songs from her 2012 album "Thankful N' Thoughtful." The rest (tracks 3, 4, 5, 10, and 12) are mostly from appearances on albums by other artists, and generally are duets.

By the way, in addition to getting this album ready for posting, at the same time, I went over her past non-album track albums and improved them. I added a song to the "Heart of Gold" collection, a duet with Joe Tex that only recently emerged on YouTube. Here's the link to that one:

Chris Rea - BBC Sessions, Volume 9: 2004-2017

Over the past month or so (writing this in February 2026), I've posted a mini-flood of Chris Rea BBC albums. This is the last one. It's the only one in the series that's a collection of studio sessions, instead of a concert.

Originally, this was going to be Volume 10. However, at the last minute, I discovered a few extra songs from 2004 to put on this album. So that means the time range for this one begins before the 2006 concert I had previously posted at Volume 9. Thus, that one is now Volume 10. Here's the link to it, if you want to get that fix:

The first three songs come from an appearance on the Paul Jones Show in 2004. That's a blues-focused show. Rea's appearance on that show is a sign of how his music moved towards the blues around that time. The next five songs, tracks 4 through 8, are from the Ken Bruce Show in 2009. Tracks 9 and 10 are from "Later... with Jools Holland," also in 2009. Track 11, a cover of the rock and roll classic "Be-Bop-a-Lula," is from the Jools Holland radio show in 2015. That leaves the final three tracks, which are from the Ken Bruce Show again, in 2017. (As usual, if you want more details, check the mp3 tags for each song.) 

Rea died in 2025 at the age of 74. But he suffered lots of medical issues for the last few years of his life. So the BBC had him on pretty much until he stopped performing in public.

Everything here is unreleased. The sound quality is generally excellent. There were a couple of songs with audience cheering, but I got rid of that with the help of the MVSEP program. One song, "Somewhere Between Highway 61 and 49," gave me more trouble. For some reason, there was a tremendous amount of pops and crackles on it, especially during the first minute. I did all I could to get rid of it. I ran the song through the MVSEP program four times, which is something I never do for a song. Each time, I got rid of more of noise. That's why that one song has "[Edit]" in its title. But still, some stubbornly remains, especially in the first twenty seconds or so.

Note also the song "Come So Far, Yet Still So Far to Go" appears twice. I tried to move the two versions as far apart as possible while still keeping everything in chronological order by year.

Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers - The Van Sessions, Part 3 (2013-2017)

Way back in 2019, I posted two albums I made of the band Nicki Bluhm and Gramblers performing cover songs. They got some media attention for a few years through the gimmick of recording cover songs while the played inside a van driving down the road. For reasons I'll explain, I've gone back and made a third album of their van sessions. I also completely overhauled and added to the two albums I'd made already.

The one problem with these songs recorded in a van was that they were... genuinely recorded in a van! That meant a lot of ambient noise, such as the sound of gear shifts and nearby traffic. When I posted some songs back in 2019, I tried to clean that up as best I could, but there wasn't much I could do, given the tools available at the time. But recently I discovered a relatively new tool for the MVSEP program called "denoise." It does a fantastic job of reducing hiss and other noise without damaging the music. One of the first thoughts I had when I started that was that I could finally get rid of the hiss on the two albums I'd made by this band. But then it occurred to me I could probably fix more songs they did that had even more hiss. There were some I had discarded because the hiss problem was too much.

So I went back to their old videos posted on YouTube and downloaded the songs I had previously skipped. To my delight, when I tried using the denoise function on them, all that hiss disappeared, even on the extreme cases! I swear, what audio editing technology can do these days is like magic. I found enough material for a third album, as well as drastically improving the sound quality for the songs I'd posted already.

Note however that I just redid the other two albums at the same time I'm posting this, and the new songs are scattered over all three albums. Eight out of 14 songs on this album are new.  But also, six out of 16 songs on Volume 1 are new, and four out of 15 songs on Volume 2 are new. So if you like this, you really should redownload the other two volumes as well. Between the new songs and the de-hissed old songs those albums are drastically improved. Here are the links:

Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers were in existence from about 2010 to 2018. Nicki Bluhm has continued with a successful solo career, but she hasn't done anything like the van sessions. So this focuses just on the Gramblers time period. Even with the Gramblers, the actually van sessions started strong in 2011 and 2013, and then slowly trailed off. On this album, tracks 2, 4, 5, 10, 12, and 13 were actually recorded inside their van. The rest are from various sources. Tracks 1, 11, and 14 are from concerts. (I removed the applause from those.) The others are from webcasts and radio sessions and things of that nature, without an audience. Check out the mp3 tags for the exact details.

Various Artists - Covered: Tom Waits, Volume 4: 2013-2023 (A Fabio from Rio Guest Post)

Here's the fourth and last album in the "Covered" series celebrating the songs of Tom Waits by collecting cover versions.

Once again, I have to thank Fabio from Rio for being the prime mover behind putting these Waits albums together. He selected a large number of songs, and I narrowed it down to a reasonable amount. And one again, Fabio was nice enough to do the write up. So, take it away, Fabio:

Waits released his last studio record to date ("Bad as Me") in 2011. His later works revisit all earlier phases in fragmented, refined form. Waits alternates tender ballads with abrasive rhythm experiments, presenting a distilled, self-aware summary of his artistic language rather than a new stylistic break.

This last volume with performances from the 2010s and 2020s is mostly filled with female voices, hinting that, musically, Waits has become something of a ladies' man — at least for a younger generation of singers.

Here again we have a wild range of different styles, from forties-like doo-wop (Ice Cream Man) to eighties-drum-machine-electro-pop ("All Stripped Down"), from jazz and blues rock ("Fumblin' with the Blues", "Shore Leave") to americana and alt-country ("Walk Away", "Blue Skies").

We will also find adult contemporary ("In-Between Love"), dark cabaret ("Little Drop of Poison", "Starving in the Belly of a Whale"), R&B ("Such a Scream"), and confessional ballad ("Martha") in the mix.

Tom Jones makes "Bad as Me" his own. "Emotional Weather Report" is a deep cut taken from the little-known jazz and spoken-word Waits seventies album "Nighthawks on the Radio", which highlights Tom Waits' deadpan humor. 

Other standouts are Rosanne Cash's "Time" and Aimee Mann's version for "Hold On" - which kind of reminded me, in spirit if not in sound, of the acappella version sung by Emily Kinney as Beth Greene in "The Walking Dead" - one of the most poignant moments of the entire series(*).

Lionel Richie - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-28-2015

Here's the sole BBC album I can find for R&B superstar Lionel Richie. It's a set from the 2015 Glastonbury Festival.

I wasn't looking for anything from Richie, but I saw musical friend Progsprog had this one, so I figured what the heck, and asked for it. I did then look around, and I found it elsewhere, but only as a very large video file. This could be the first time it's being widely shared as an audio bootleg.

This is the only time Richie has appeared at the massive annual Glastonbury Festival. By 2015, he was past his commercial peak. But he sold close to 100 million records in his career, so he still had to be a very popular act at the festival.

As expected, his set mostly consisted of big hits from his time in the Commodores and his solo career. The final song, "We Are the World," was co-written by him and Michael Jackson.

Blondie - PBS Soundstage, WTTW Studios, Chicago, IL, 12-10-2015

I just posted a Blondie concert album yesterday, but I'm going to post this one here already before I forget about it. This was Blondie's turn on the excellent TV show "PBS Soundstage."

It's rather unfortunate it took so long before Blondie appeared on this show, especially since the show first began the same year the band was formed, way back in 1974. But at least the band has stayed pretty active coming up with new material. They released three new studio albums in the 2010s. The second one, "Ghosts of Download," was released a year prior to this concert. Although it was a sign of their declining sales that they felt the need to bundle it with a greatest his collection.

This album is a mix of old and new. I count seven songs from their recent albums, compared to seven of their classic hits.

Various Artists - Gershwin Prize for Popular Song Honoring Willie Nelson, D.A.R. Constitution Hall, Washington, DC, 11-18-2015

The reason I mention that off the bat is because it turns out that was a "Gershwin Prize for Popular Song" tribute concert, and I've found a few more of them. Here's one from 2015, honoring Willie Nelson. (By the way, I just redid the cover art of the Joni Mitchell one, so all of the ones I post will have the same font and so forth.)

This award is actually bestowed by a branch of the U.S. government, the Library of Congress. It was first awarded in 2007. It's been an annual thing since then, although four years were skipped. (One skip was due to the Covid pandemic, in 2021. I don't know why there weren't awards ceremonies in 2007, 2012, and 2017.)

Speaking of remaining out of reach, this Willie Nelson was very hard to find. For instance, it's not on YouTube, and everything like this is on YouTube. But I was able to find a single mp3 file of the entire concert. Then I broke it up into mp3s for each song.

One interesting thing about this concert, compared to the other Gershwin Prize concerts I've found so far, is that there weren't that many guest stars, but many of the guest stars got to perform two songs instead of one. For instance, that was the case with Neil Young, Paul Simon, and Alison Kraus. And in the cases of Neil Young and Paul Simon, I thought I'd seen just about every unique songs they've performed, but I've never seen any recordings or mentions of these.

However, the big star of the show, naturally, was Willie Nelson himself. He performed four songs at the end, including a duet with Cyndi Lauper.

By the way, if you look at the song list, you may wonder who "David Mao" is. He was the Librarian of Congress at the time. I've noticed that in all these concerts, the person in that position gets to give the introductory speech to the inductee. That must be an interesting perk for that government job.

Everything here is officially unreleased, but the sound quality is excellent.
