Note that Paul Kantner, a member of Jefferson Airplane/ Jefferson Starship, helped sing one song here, "Wooden Ships." He co-wrote the song with Crosby and Stills back in 1969.
I have to say I'm pretty surprised Crosby, Stills and Nash didn't perform with Neil Young in this concert. Young had his own set in this same venue later in the evening. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young were on relatively good terms at the time. They put out only their second studio album as a foursome in 1988, "American Dream." After the album had disappointing reviews, Young decided not to tour with CSN to promote it. However, he did play a few benefit concerts with them around this time. In fact, CSNY did a set together about this long at the Bridge School Benefit only a month before this, and they played three more concerts together in 1990. But then again, Young is well known to be very mercurial, and has been for his entire music career. Also, he did have a solo tour in Europe due to start less than two weeks later, so perhaps he wanted this to be a warm-up for that.
