No Nukes Concerts, Madison Square Garden, New York City, 9-23-1979: Tom P*tty & the Heartbreakers

Before you read any further, note that there's no actual download link here yet! As I mentioned previously, I've gotten in trouble twice posting music from this artist. But I want to post this to complete the 1979 No Nukes recordings that I have. In the past couple of days, I've asked if anyone can post a link at some other webpage. Then I'll post a link to that. A person named Nico did that for a different album in the past few days (Gil Scott-Heron), and that seems to be working out, so hopefully he'll do that again. If not, perhaps someone else will contact me via email for the files so they can be posted. Note that I'm already sharing this set via SoulseekQT.

Once I have a good link, then I'll replace this with the album write-up. Thanks for your patience.

  1. The Mac version of Soulseek requires macOS 11 or higher. Is there a version for older macOS? I have Catalina 10.15.7.

    1. Sorry, I don't use Macs, so I have no clue. However, note I'm talking about SoulseekQT, not Soulseek. They're different.

  5. So nobody can help to post this somewhere? I wonder what happened to Nico, who posted the other No Nukes show at his blog.

    1. Great question, Paul. I had no trouble downloading the GS-H link from Nico's site. Maybe he just got busy...

    2. Paul, all I have is a website for my book that I self published last year. I don't have a blog, at least as yet, but is there any way that I can help with this last No Nukes link?

  6. hey, found a box-set of bootleg recordings that features several tracks from Sept. 23rd, 1979. it's lossless and spread over those 11 CDs. if anybody has an appropriate account for D/L...

    3. TUBE/guitars101 has lots of good stuff, but their links filefactory and terbo are bad unless you pay them a bunch of $$. Thanks though!

    4. well, no, the links are not outdated. 5 out of 6 are fine, one was under "server maintenance" (#3). maybe you'll have to use a VPN to get access?

    1. The livepetty.com site has been around for a while, with the No Nukes performance on it. But maybe Petty fans would prefer not much publicity about the site in case it gets 'scrutinised'

  8. Maybe an alternative, all under your control, is not to use text. Use instead 3 jpg files (front sleeve as you do, back sleeve with the list of songs, album notes with your usual notes, or pdf) and a generic title for the Blog archive, as it is the case for the Heatwave festival (i propose Atse Collection, vol 2024.1 for Petty, etc..) and of course no label.
It is the first step to avoid being a sitting duck for the Search robots. While it is possible, I have doubt that these evil robots would go into decoding a jpg file. Obviously you will lose some visibility (and a few new readers) but that's unavoidable.

  11. Paul, could make a request about the TP no nukes show. Granted you can't post the music files to download, but could you post your write up about it with the album cover? It would at least be nice to have all of the info to complete the concerts. Thanks so much!
