Counting Crows - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 10-23-2012

Here's another concert from the April 2026 Port Chester leak that I got a few requests for: the Counting Crows in 2012.

The band's sixth studio album, "Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did on Our Summer Vacation)," was released in April 2012. It consisted entirely of cover versions.

I have to admit I'm not much of a Counting Crows fan. I find the lead vocals of Adam Duritz a bit whiny. But I also must admit that I was impressed by this concert. The thing that impressed me the surprising number of cover versions, mostly deep cuts that showed really good musical taste. (And Duritz showed just how much of a music fan he is by mentioning that he has a bunch of Grateful Dead bootlegs from the Capitol Theatre, where this concert took place.) All the covers were explained by the fact the band was promoting a covers album, but it was still pretty cool anyway.

Here's a list of all the covers, and the original musical acts for each:

Untitled (Love Song) - Romany Rye
Hospital - Coby Brown
Start Again - Teenage Fanclub
Meet on the Ledge - Fairport Convention
Friend of the Devil - Grateful Dead
Mercy - Tender Mercies
Look at Miss Ohio - Gillian Welch

You Ain't Goin' Nowhere - Bob Dylan
