The Psychedelic Furs - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 10-20-2012

I just posted a concert by the Lemonheads that comes from the April 2026 Port Chester soundboard leak. They were the opening act on this night, playing a short set. The Psychedelic Furs were the main act that night, performing a full-length concert. So I'm posting both of these back to back.

I'm kind of surprised this is the first Psychedelic Furs album I've posted. They were one of the many New Wave bands I liked and grew up with in the 1980s. Here's the intro to their Wikipedia entry:

"The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band founded in London in February 1977. Led by lead vocalist Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass guitar, the Psychedelic Furs are one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. The band had several hits in their early career. In 1986, filmmaker John Hughes used their song 'Pretty in Pink' for his film of the same name. They went on hiatus after they finished touring in 1992, but resumed in 2000 and continue to perform live. The band released 'Made of Rain,' their first studio album in nearly three decades, in July 2020."

At the time of this concert, the band hadn't released a new studio album since 1991. That's partly due to the fact the two key members, Richard Butler and Tim Butler, had another band for most of the 1990s, Love Spit Love. Richard Butler released a solo album in 2006. Pretty much all the songs performed were from 1980s Psychedelic Furs albums. However, they did play one Love Spit Love song, "Believe." And "Little Miss World" is a song that was performed a lot in concert in the 2010s but has yet to be officially released on any album.

I took a single mono track of this entire concert and chopped it into mp3s.

This album is an hour and 25 minutes long.

The cover image of the band's lead singer Richard Butler is from this exact concert. Regarding the font, I wanted to have a little fun with it. I asked the Gemini program to come up with a font style that was both psychedelic and furry. I like what it came up with.
