The Lemonheads - Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY, 10-20-2012

Here's a Lemonheads concert from the April 2026 Port Chester soundboard leak. I didn't get any requests to post this one sooner rather than later. However, the Lemonheads were the opening act for the Psychedelic Furs, and I did get requests for that. So I'm posting the opening act, then the main act.

"The Lemonheads are an American alternative rock band formed in Boston in 1986 by Evan Dando, Ben Deily, and Jesse Peretz. Dando has remained the band's only constant member. After their initial punk-influenced releases and tours as an independent/college rock band in the late 1980s, the Lemonheads' popularity with a mass audience grew in 1992 with the major label album 'It's a Shame about Ray.' This was followed by a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's 'Mrs. Robinson,' which became one of the band's most successful singles. They were active until 1997 before going on hiatus, but reformed with a new lineup in 2005 and released 'The Lemonheads' the following year. The band released its latest album, 'Love Chant,' in October 2025."

At the time of this concert, the band's latest album was "Varshons," released in 2009. For the tour this was a part of, they played all the songs from their most popular album, "It's a Shame about Ray," plus some other songs.

For this concert, I started with a single mono soundboard audio file and chopped it up into mp3s. I had the additional problem of not being able to find a song list from the concert, so I had to figure out all the song titles. That was a slight challenge, since I wasn't familiar with their music beyond their hits, but I'd catch a bit of the lyrics and just search the Internet to get the song title. 

This album is 39 minutes long.

The cover image of lead singer Evan Dando is from this exact concert. The band's name explicitly comes from the Lemonheads candy. So I thought it would be fun to use the exact same colors and font for the candy on this album title. I used the Gemini program to create the extra text at the bottom in the same style.
