Alanis Morissette - BBC In Concert, Glastonbury Festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Britain, 6-27-2025

Here is another album from the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. This one features a set by singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette.

As usual for this festival, I'm trying to keep my write-ups short so I can post more of these, faster. At the time of this concert, her big selling years are behind her. She sold tens of millions of albums in the 1990s, but her two most recent albums at the time of this concert did even go gold. However, she still put on a very entertaining concert, full of crowd-pleasing songs.

This album is unreleased. The sound quality is excellent. The only problem was with the song "All I Really Want." It had a drop out, but I was able to patch it up. That's why that song has "[Edit]" in its title.

This album is 58 minutes long.

01 Intro - Hand in My Pocket (Alanis Morissette)
02 Right through You (Alanis Morissette)

Alanis Morissette - PBS Soundstage, WTTW Studios, Chicago, IL, 11-14-2003

I just posted an episode of "PBS Soundstage" (the Doobie Brothers from 1979) that required a lot of editing. So I'm going to reward myself by posting a couple that needed very little editing. This episode features a performance by Alanis Morissette in 2003.

Morissette is best known for her 1996 album "Jagged Little Pill," which is one of the best selling albums of all time, selling over 33 million copies worldwide. Her next two albums, "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" in 1998 and "Under Rug Swept" in 2002 were also big sellers, although her sales steadily declined for later albums. For instance, "Under Rug Swept" sold about five million albums worldwide. So this was a good time for a concert recording, after she'd released most of her famous songs.

Curiously, this concert seems to have taken place between album releases. "Under Rug Swept" came out in early 2002, and her next album, "So Called Chaos," wouldn't be released until May 2004. So she mostly played songs from "Under Rug Swept" and earlier, but she did play one song that would be on her next album, "Eight Easy Steps."

This album is 55 minutes long. It's unreleased, and the sound quality is excellent.

01 All I Really Want (Alanis Morissette)
02 21 Things I Want in a Lover (Alanis Morissette)
03 Hands Clean (Alanis Morissette)
04 talk (Alanis Morissette)
05 Eight Easy Steps (Alanis Morissette)
06 Head Over Feet (Alanis Morissette)
07 talk (Alanis Morissette)
08 Excuses (Alanis Morissette)
09 talk (Alanis Morissette)
10 Knees of My Bees (Alanis Morissette)
11 This Grudge (Alanis Morissette)
12 You Oughta Know (Alanis Morissette)
13 Uninvited (Alanis Morissette)
14 talk (Alanis Morissette)
15 Thank U (Alanis Morissette)

Alanis Morissette - VH-1 Storytellers, The Roxy, New York City, 7-26-1999

Next up from the "VH-1 Storytellers" series is Alanis Morissette.

In 1999, Morissette was massively popular. Her 1995 album "Jagged Little Pill" sold 33 million copies worldwide. Her 1998 album "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" sold "only" seven million copies, still very impressive.

She naturally mostly played songs from these two albums. However, "That I Would Be Good" was unreleased at the time. It would later be released on her "MTV Unplugged" album, which was recorded a couple of months after this concert.

A video of this concert was eventually released on DVD. However, no album was released, which is why I'm posting this. I had a hard time finding all the audio from the DVD. I found bootlegs that contained just the music and almost no banter. A video on YouTube was exactly the same - all music, no banter. But eventually I was able to find the banter too. Two of the banter tracks seemed out of order though, so I made educated guesses in moving them.

All too often, these episodes started in the middle of a song. That was the case here. This was especially annoying, because that song, "Hand in My Pocket," was one of her biggest hits. I found a different soundboard bootleg version from 1999 to fill in the missing part. That's why that song has "[Edit]" in the title. But most of the others have edits, especially with fixing the applause at the ends of songs so the songs could flow naturally into each other.

This album is 55 minutes long.

01 Hand in My Pocket [Edit] (Alanis Morissette)
02 talk (Alanis Morissette)
03 You Learn (Alanis Morissette)

07 Unsent (Alanis Morissette)
