More Port Chester Concerts Coming

In recent weeks, I've been listening almost exclusively to April 2026 Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York soundboard concerts. In my opinion, this is an amazing musical treasure trove, but most of it is in danger of being forgotten.

I've posted about 35 concerts from the trove already. There are a few dozen different ones posted by others at bootleg sharing sites as well. But there are many dozens more that are not being shared anywhere I can see, not even at SoulseekQT, which normally has everything. It's been more than six months since the leak, and I don't see anyone else posting more concerts from this, not even in their raw form. So that's why I'm really focusing on getting these out there, even for musical acts I barely know or don't like all that much. And also even though it's a pain in the rear, since the vast majority of these were leaked as single files, which I then have to chop up into mp3s. I have a feeling that if I don't share these, nobody will.

I've been a very busy bee. The following is a list of all the concerts I have all ready to go, with the mp3 splits and other audio editing, plus the cover art made. (Another thing I really like about these concerts is that there are good photos from the vast majority of them, due to the venue posting thousands of photos at Flickr.) All I need to do is upload them and write the write-ups. I could post these in any order, and so far I'm doing that pretty randomly. But if anyone wants me to post any of these sooner rather than later, please let me know which ones in this thread. I should start posting a lot more now that I've finished processing so many. I believe it's 53 more concerts in all.

B.B. King
Beth Hart
Black Crowes (two concerts)
Bob Weir (three concerts)
Brandi Carlile
Bruce Hornsby
Chris Stapleton
Counting Crows
Elvis Costello & the Roots

Spoon
Steve Earle
Tedeschi Trucks (two concerts)
Trigger Hippy
Wallflowers

Willie Nelson

But wait, there's more! There are still more concerts that I haven't listened to or processed at all. These will take more time. Generally speaking, they consist of musical acts I'm less familiar with or completely unfamiliar with. (And, by the way, there are still dozens more concert recordings in the leak that I'm skipping entirely, because I checked at the rateyourmusic.com website, and they don't have many fans.) Out of the ones below, I'll probably process some of them, but not all. It depends on two things. One, how much do I like them. And two, how much popular demand there is for them. So if you want me to post some of these, let me know which ones, and that will influence what I do with them. I believe there's 37 concerts in this second list below. Thanks.

I gotta say I'm enjoying this project because my musical tastes are mostly stuck in the 1960s to 1990s. Since the vast majority of these are from 2012 to 2019, it's "forcing" me to listen to more musical acts I had overlooked. (There's a minority from after 2019 that weren't part of the leak, mostly webcasts from the same venue that I happened to find.) Some of these musical acts don't impress me much, but some do, so it's expanding my musical horizons a bit. Overall, I'd say the venue has very good taste in the kinds of musical acts they book, which is what makes this trove so interesting to me.

Alabama Shakes
Alejandro Escovedo
Avett Brothers (two concerts)

  10. From the first List, Jackson Browne, Bob Weir and Hot Tuna! Thanks so much!! (P.s) One uploader who I will not name did track and "master" the two Jackson Browne shows from sept 2015, but he did some offset channel doubling/tweaking that make it sound really weird (in an attempt to make a mono recording stereo). We need it done properly and I know you can do it Paul! Thanks for everything!

    1. Unfortunately, I checked, and it looks like I used the version you don't like. The reason is that one split the single track into songs, and that saved me time. This is a hugely time consuming task so I'm looking for any way to save more time. If you want to remaster it yourself, I'd be happy to post that version.

Thanks for being busy, and for all the releases this month. Been getting great mileage recently out of Nathaniel Rateliff, Gillian Welch and that Prince gig in Germany you posted a while back. Wow.

    1. What obscure Marilyn McCoo show??

      Delete
    2. My apologies Paul. The Marilyn McCoo / Billy Davis Jr show was from the Pacific Northwest leak of soundboards that came out around the same time as the Capitol Theatre Portchester leak. Most of the shows were from county fairs in Oregon or a casino in Oregon. The McCoo show was from the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City Oregon in 1999. I am looking for that if you have any luck finding it. I have lots of the other Oregon based shows that leaked out....Gregg Allman, 38 Special, America, Three Dog Night, Eddie Money, Glen Campbell, etc etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. And thanks for the J Geils Capitol show whenever you find the time. You and your blog are the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! - Eric from NJ

    3. Sorry, I don't have that. I just searched Soulseek and didn't find it there. However, I am aware of that leak you speak of. I guess more from that are still coming out. I'm not so interested in those, since they mostly consist of bands way past their prime. But there might be some good ones there. I know a person going by the handle KRW_CO is posting all of those at the Dime a Dozen site. I'll bet if you contact that person via a PM at that site, they would have the one you're looking for. It probably just fell off the tracker due to lack of interest.
