Poll Results So Far

Update: in the first version of this blog post, I mentioned that all the Bestfile links had stopped working. I'm glad to report they're all working again, so never mind.

With that out of the way, here are the BBC poll results so far. There may still be some votes trickling in, and I hope there are, since there are a lot of ties here. I'll keep adding in more votes as they come in. But here's the results as of now:

I must say, I'm pretty surprised by the results so far. Some famous names are way down the list, and some lesser known ones are near the top. And it's interesting that when I did the earlier poll with fewer choices, the Incredible String Band got the most votes, but now they're tied for ninth. Anyway, while I'm still intent on finishing off posting the BBC albums for the musical acts where I've already posted at least one BBC album already, there's no reason I can't at least get started on this list a little bit soon. So I'll probably start posting one or two acts from the top in the next week or so.

Thanks again for the helpful feedback!

  1. I was so hoping the ISB would still be near the top for this second poll...

    1. I'm still going to give them a boost in the ratings, since winning the first poll should count for something.

    2. Also, just another vote or two would get them to move up a lot - get some ISB fan to help! ;)

  2. I haven't had any issues with Bestfile, though maybe its because I'm using Brave (and not Chrome or Firefox) for my downloads. Pixeldrain had a strange message that I got one time; something about the file being too large to download because of my usage. But it does slow down now more than not because apparently the sites usage has increased. Between the 2, I've never been able to download one of your boots. And thanks for the update on the poll; I though the results were very interesting as well!

    1. Huh. I just tried Brave, since I have that browser install too. Same problem. It says it won't go to that site.

On a different note, I'm confused about this sentence:

Between the 2, I've never been able to download one of your boots.

It seems to contradict the rest of what you said, like not having issues with Bestfile.

    2. So sorry Paul, I think I must have been a bit blurry! I've been successful in downloading any and all of your posted boots. I typically use Pixeldrain because it had been faster. That site has slowed things down from time to time, in which case I've used Bestfile. But between the 2, I have always been able to download your files. Sorry again for the confusion on my part, G.

  3. Yes I can not use bestfile either. Says my computer clock time is wrong.

  4. I can use bestfile through jdownloader, not directly

    1. At least that shows the site is still working, even though few can use it.

  6. Some more votes came in, so I just updated the poll results again. I'll keep updating until there are no more votes.

Some developments: Peter Gabriel is eeking out a small lead for the top spot now. The Incredible String Band is having a late surge. So is XTC.

    1. It's better if you post your choices in the other thread. Also, I'm limiting people to five choices. If that's your list, I'll go with the first five. Or you can pick the five yourself.

  10. When are we likely to see some postings that reflect the voting ? I appreciate your hard work but things seem to have gone off on something of a tangent. It has been a while since we had some Richard Thompson.

    1. You're right, I've been distracted by my recent discovery of all the PBS Soundstage stuff. I'm going to keep going with that, but I'll try to resume more posting BBC stuff too. So I should start getting to the voting results soon.
