Regarding the sourcing, most of the songs come from a concert in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in September 1979. However, "Danny's All Star Joint" comes from a concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1982. And there are three songs from significantly later: "Night Train," "Company," and "After Hours." Those come from a 2010 concert in Alexandria, Virginia. Check the mp3 tags for more specific details, if you're interested in that.

The cover image is taken from the bootleg of the Dutch concert that makes up most of the music here. Mike picked it, so I don't know the exact details. However, it's probably from 1979, the same year as the Dutch concert.

Thanks for this! Rickie Lee Jones made a number of concerts available for download about 20 years ago. The recording from the Roxy in 1982 ranks as one of my favourite live albums ever. It would be great if it was available physically (I mean vinyl of course) as well but I'm not holding my breath.
ReplyDeleteLucky enough through work to have access to an unreleased pro recorded and mixed live recording from 1979 which is amazing .
ReplyDeleteWould you care to share that? If so, I'd be happy to post it here.
Deleteand get sacked? I don't think so do you?
ReplyDeleteWould a private share without posting be possible then?
