I thought I might comment on this 4 year old...Paul:<br />I thought I might comment on this 4 year old post since I was there at the Bitter End on August 27,1967. I came across your post while researching info for a memory trip article with three of my high school buddies from Central Illinois. I find it absolutely amazing that an audio of this event exists.<br /><br />Jake Holmes opened for Diamond and Van Morrison did a song or two. Diamond came on the small stage and was raw and new and served up his hits with a flair. The Bitter End, in those days did not serve alcohol and specialized in ice cream drinks. You had to have a minimum of one drink. I still have the menu.<br /><br />If there was a bomb at this show, it was a pretty quiet one. As far as I know the show went off as intended. Maybe after the event a bomb exploded, but not while we were there.
