Don McLean Again, and Chris Isaak

Just yesterday, I posted a BBC album of Don McLean performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2011. The version I posted was 36 minutes. But musical friend Progsprog saw that post, realized he has a longer version, and sent that to me. So I just updated that album. Now, it's 58 minutes long. So if you've downloaded it already, you might want to go back and get the longer version. Thanks to Progsprog for the timely help.

Also, a few days ago, a commenter name Kris pointed out that he had a better sounding version of the  1991 Chris Isaak BBC concert I'd posted back in 2022. He gave a link, and sure enough that version does sound better. So I've just updated that one. Here's the link:

Note that I've also renamed it to "BBC Sessions, Volume 1" because I found material for a "Volume 2," which I plan on posting here soon.

And thank you as well, Kris. It would be great if more people could send me stuff they think I should post that I'm missing, especially BBC material. If you have a vast collection and want to send me a list to see if I might find something useful in it, please do!

  1. Hi, Paul. I'm a huge Nick Drake fan. Recently I came upon an extremely interesting youtube post of a BBC Radio 2 concert celebrating his songs with orchestra and a lot of guest artists singing. It would be good to have it in your BBC series with your usual work of sequencing and enhancing IMO. So this is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4I4Dwn-s90 . Oh, and it would interesting too to work about this other link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWeYU96u-_s . It is basically the orchestral track of the above concert, on wich a fan has justapposed the stripped vocal and guitar of the original Nick Drake songs. Although it is somewhat flawed in a few points and the vocals are a little murky and low in the mix, you could also do your usual job, if you think it would be interesting. Anyway, huge kudos for your work in all these years.

    1. Yeah, I haven't posted that because I feel McCartney lost his voice around 2020 or so. It pains me to hear him sing when he can't hit the notes. But if enough people want it, I could post this anyway, I suppose.
